Hedi Slimane Dissapoints at the YSL Show!

I guess this was expected since Hedi took over the house of Yves Saint Laurent. California Grunge was his inspiration for this collection.  But on the other hand critics were disappointed, they said it was "confusing" as he used excessive feathers, fringing, leather, lace, sequins, tailoring, baggy pants, capes, tribal pendants and the list goes on....For his first collection as creative director of Saint Laurent,Hedi Slimane took his inspiration from the fashion house’s archives, presenting an aesthetic thoroughly rooted in the brand’s history. For this, his second show, he appears to have done the opposite, creating a collection so far from the label’s style, people were double checking their invitations.

Pierre Berge, Saint Laurent's former partner said of (Slimane) that "he know the Saint Laurent DNA, the spirit" and it can be seen in the black silk bowties a house signature that was used as a leitmotif.

Then there's twitter - here are the negative - You can see the comments for yourself here

Seriously, I tried, but I really don't get Hedi Slimane! What the hell is he doing??

Hedi Slimane should be shame on himself, changing the heritage & trademark of Paris-based prominent fashion house from YSL to SL. Ckckck 👎

Looks like Hedi Slimane is making a mess of things at Saint Laurent... They should have just called upon Gallianno. He wouldn't be failing.

Hedi Slimane’s latest show for Saint Laurent had many leaving the grunge-inspired collection In a state from amused puzzlement to disbelief

Fashion is fickle yes, but nothing is ever new - the wheel just keeps reinventing itself. I say yes to it all especially those biker boots!
